The University of Chicago Host Forum – 8 Democratic  Attorney General  Candidates



The University of Chicago Democrats and the College Democrats of Illinois will host a public forum on Monday, January 8th at 6 p.m. for Illinois Democratic attorney general  candidates. The forum will be held at the First Unitarian Church of Chicago located at 5650 South Woodlawn Avenue.Kwame Raoul, State Senator for the 13th Legislative District and candidate for Attorney General.    Kwame Raoul, State Senator

The eight Democratic attorney general candidates are Scott Drury – State Rep., Sharon Fairley, Aaron Goldstein, Renato Mariotti, Kwame Raoul – State Senator, Nancy Rotering, Jesse Ruiz, and Pat Quinn – Former Illinois Governor. The forum will be moderated by Mary Ann Ahern, NBC 5 News political reporter.

The Democratic Party primary election takes place on March 20, 2018, in Illinois to determine which candidate will earn the right to run as the party’s nominee in the state’s November 6, 2018, attorney general election.



On September 15, 2017, the sitting attorney general, Lisa Madigan (D) announced that she would not seek a fifth term in 2018. She was first elected in 2002 and was re-elected in 2006, 2010, and 2014.
